Grand Jury Eligibility Requirements & Questionnaire

Thank you for your interest in the Napa County Civil Grand Jury. State law requires the formation of a grand jury every year. Grand jury service is an important civic responsibility for all citizens of this state. It is also a rewarding experience for those who serve.

Grand jurors must meet the following legal qualifications:

At least 18 years of age

Citizen of the United States

Resident of Napa County one year prior to next July

Possess sufficient knowledge of the English language

Not currently serving as a trial juror

Not discharged as a grand juror within one year prior to next July

Never convicted of a malfeasance in office or any felony or other higher crime

Not currently serving as an elected official

In possession of natural faculties, of ordinary intelligence, of sound judgment, and of fair character

Recruitment for the 2011-2012 grand jury is closed. If you would like to be considered for the 2012-2013 term, please complete and submit our online questionnaire. The Jury Commissioner will retain your questionnaire for future consideration. Recruitment for 2012-2013 will begin in March of 2013.
