Napa Access
Napa Access is a Family Court Services program that provides supervised
visitation and monitored exchange services in English and Spanish. These
services diffuse the tension between parents during a stressful family
reorganization and help to foster continuing positive relationships between
children and parents.
The services are necessary because the public policy of the State of
California is to protect the best interests of children whose parents
have a custody or visitation matter within the family courts. Sometimes,
based on issues of protection and safety, a judge will decide that in
order for a child to have contact with a parent, a neutral third person
must be present during any visitation with the non-residential parent,
or during the exchange of the child between the custodial parent/guardian
and non-residential parent. The neutral, safe contact zone may be necessary
when there are allegations of domestic violence, child abuse, or substance
abuse that create a safety risk for parents or children.
